Sculpture Open 2019

A celebration of contemporary sculpture From bronze casting to 3D printing, stone carving to found objects, sculpture is arguably the most diverse of artistic mediums allowing unrivalled freedom in materials, process, form and scale. Crossing boundaries between architecture, design, manufacture and craft, sculpture is a constantly evolving art form that pervades our lives like no other - from public monuments to the coins we carry in our pockets, sculpture is all around us. The RWA Sculpture Open will celebrate contemporary sculptural practice in all its many forms. Submissions for this exhibition are invited from artists who either sculpt, or explore the concept of sculpture in their work. Artists of all ages and experience are welcome to submit.

Exhibiting excellence in every botanical art form. The Society invites artists to submit their very best work to our open exhibition. Whether an artist working in watercolour, oils, gouache, graphite, colour pencil or pen & ink, a botanical illustrator, a printmaker, ceramic artists, sculptor, jeweller or glass artist, we are seeking work with a strong exhibiting presence to be part of our show at the Mall Galleries. Our only criteria are that all work must: Be predominantly of botanical content. Be botanically accurate. Be visually pleasing. Have strong wall appeal. Be work you are proud of. All work must be original (all prints must be hand pulled and NOT giclee). We regret we do not accept photography or other digital art forms. Maximum dimension is 120cm on the longest side.

Broomhill Art and Sculpture Foundation

Broomhill National Sculpture Prize - Call For Applications

The Broomhill Art and Sculpture Foundation launched, in 2009, the Broomhill National Sculpture Prize (NSP) with an annual prize fund of £15,000 to provide an exciting challenge for new and emerging UK based sculptors. Each year ten short-listed sculptors selected by a panel of judges receive £1,000 each to create their proposed sculpture which is then exhibited at the Broomhill Sculpture Park in an annual NSP summer Exhibition. The competition is open to UK based artists, currently studying (or within 10 years of graduation) an art-related course at a recognised School of Art. Two overall winners (to receive cash prizes) are announced each October, one chosen by the public and the other by our esteemed panel of judges.

The Live Art Development Agency (LADA) is offering two Leadership Bursaries of £10,000 each for artists and/or arts workers from culturally diverse backgrounds (BME: Black and Minority Ethnic) as part of Live Art UK’s three-year Diverse Actions programme. The bursaries aim to support a new generation of ‘skilled-up’ leaders and new models of leadership which will have an impact across the arts. To support a year-long programme of activity in 2019/20.

The primary goal of the awards is to reveal and promote unknown artists who are yet to establish their profile in the contemporary art world. The Live Art Development Agency’s “Arthole Artist’s Award” supports a ground-breaking and inspirational UK-based artist working in Live Art to undertake a self-determined year-long research and artistic development programme that will have a significant and lasting impact on their practice, and on wider contemporary culture in the UK. This Award is intended to plug a hole in art funding for open-ended research and professional development. The Arthole Artist’s Award recipient will receive £10,000. The programme of activity should take place from April 2019 to March 2020.

Whether it’s iconic landmarks such as the magnificent Gloucester Cathedral, the picturesque Victorian Docks, or street scenes of everyday life, artists will be competing in this exciting event for all to see.
